❤️ The Spectrum of Biblical Devotion

Love in Scripture is not a single fleeting emotion—it is a four-part architecture of devotion: the holy fire of romance (Eros), the fierce instinct of family protection (Storge), the blood covenant of friendship (Phileo), and the unconditional choice of the Cross (Agape).

The 4-Episode Curriculum Breakdown

Episode 1SONG OF SOLOMON 8:6–7 • EPHESIANS 5:25–32

The Fire (Eros)

Narrative Sub-Story: We open with the Bible’s most passionate book, exploring the intense covenant desire between King Solomon and his bride and the "very flame of the LORD" set as a seal upon the heart (Eros, Dodim, Chotham).

Biblical Principle: God invented romantic passion; marital devotion is a sacred reflection of God’s jealous, pursuing fire for His covenant people.
Episode 22 SAMUEL 21:1–14 • ISAIAH 49:15

The Bond (Storge)

Narrative Sub-Story: In a gritty account of maternal devotion, Rizpah spreads sackcloth on the rock of Gibeah and guards the bodies of her sons from birds of prey by day and wild beasts by night for months until King David grants them an honorable burial (Storge, Saq, Kaphar).

Biblical Principle: Family love is fierce and protective—mirroring the Father’s unyielding watch over His children through the darkest seasons of grief.
Episode 31 SAMUEL 18:1–4 • 1 SAMUEL 20:1–42 • JOHN 15:13

The Blood Covenant (Phileo)

Narrative Sub-Story: Jonathan, the crown prince of Israel, strips off his royal robe, armor, sword, and bow to hand them to David—swearing a blood covenant of friendship that outlasts palace paranoia, war, and death itself (Phileo, Berith, Hesed).

Biblical Principle: True biblical friendship is not casual companionship; it is laying down your own status and rights to protect the calling God placed on your friend.
Episode 4JOHN 13:1–17 • ROMANS 5:8

The Unconditional (Agape)

Narrative Sub-Story: Knowing full well that the Father has given all things into His hands—and that Judas is hours away from betraying Him—Jesus rises from supper, wraps a servant’s towel around His waist, and kneels to wash His disciples’ feet (Agape, Doulos, Hypodeigma).

Biblical Principle: Agape is not an emotional reaction; it is a sovereign choice to serve, cleanse, and love even when the recipient least deserves it.
